Note: Each assessment in this course is a step in developing Assessment 6, a proposal for a new health policy in the form of a policy manual. You are strongly encouraged to complete assessments in this course in sequence.
For this assessment, be sure to plan ahead in order to consider the structural needs for your overall proposal as you develop your headings and subheadings. Review APA guidelines and other writing considerations in the Research Resources and Supplemental Resources in the left navigation menu of your courseroom.
Then, submit a 2–3-page outline for your health policy proposal, including headings and subheadings for each content area below (no paragraphs or complete sentences).
- Include your problem statement and address the importance of a new health policy plan.
- Also include literature review topics describing the theories underlying your proposed policy development.
- Be sure to provide the theoretical and practical support for your proposed policy.
- Summarize your proposed health policy.
- Select one of these perspectives: economic, sociological, political, or methodological models. Include subheadings related to one of these perspectives.
- Include subheadings related to how the social-political context is intertwined in the development and implementation of your proposed health policy.
- Include subheadings for your proposed policy using comparative decision-making techniques for health care issues, strategies, and programs.
- Include subheadings related to possible ethical dilemmas that may arise during policy development and implementation.
- Include subheadings to demonstrate your policy’s proposed benefits.
- Conclude with subheadings describing the points of a high-level persuasive argument on why your proposed policy should be accepted, including the proposal’s strengths and limitations.
- Include a reference list.
- Length: Paper must be 2–3 pages typed and double-spaced, using Times New Roman, 12-point content (length excludes title page, abstract, table of contents, and reference list).
- References: Cite at least five references. Your references may include both scholarly literature and practitioner sources.
- Written communication: Writing must be free of errors, scholarly, and consistent with expectations for business professionals.
- Writing style: APA expectations for scholarly writing include the use of third-person narrative, unless it is awkward to do so.
- APA formatting: Writing must be formatted according to APA (6th edition) style and formatting and include a title page, abstract, table of contents, and reference list.
